Heather Kerns, 43, was sleeping in the first-floor front room of her home on the 300 block of S 7th Street when she was shot around 2 a.m., Reading police said.
She suffered a minor graze wound and was taken to a local hospital for evaluation, authorities said.
Police said that an unknown gunman opened fire at two homes on the block around that time.
Police added that there is no indication of a threat to the general public.
